| In the past few years, a new class of drug has been developed to help men with ED (erectile dysfunction). Viagra was the first of these so-called "PDE-5 inhibitors" to be released. Levitra is the second to be available in the US, and the third, Cialis, is coming soon. (All three are currently available in Europe.) ED (erectile dysfunction) used to be blamed on psychological factors. However, with drugs like Levitra, we now know that erectile dysfunction is largely a physical problem. Problems like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and and simple old age can cause difficulties in getting and maintaining an erection. Before drugs like Levitra, erectile dysfunction was treated with injections directly into the penis or with penile implants. With drugs like Levitra, however, these unpleasant and invasive treatments are no longer necessary. Just by taking a simple pill, the vast majority of men experience improved erections and successful intercourse. Levitra doesn't cure ED. You take Levitra right before you want to have sex. Within about an hour you are better able to get an erection, and the effect wears off a few hours after that. Some people report lingering positive effects after that, but for the most part, you'll need to take Levitra again each time you want to have sex. Levitra is not an aphrodisiac. It will not make you desire sex, it will only allow you to get an erection if you are sexually stimulated. It works on the body, not on the mind. People who take Levitra are surprised that it doesn't make them feel any different until they receive some sexual stimulation. Then they notice the difference. |
